POSITION AVAILABLE

Security Professional (Armed)

An armed security professional (SP2) in our organization patrols and inspects client properties against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. He/She receives daily assignments from the on duty Supervisor and maintains regular contact throughout ther shift. Detailed reporting and acute awareness are the cornerstones of the SP2 performance requirements, but other expectations include:

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.

• Obtains help by sounding alarms.

• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.

• Controls traffic by directing drivers.

• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.

• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.

• Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, referral sources, vendors and outside contacts.

• Able to make independent decisions

• Must be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring manner

• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

• Proper weapon use and maintenance

• Marksmanship

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduate or equivalent

• Class G License

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Military service, law enforcement or (3) years of armed personal or corporate security

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Able to stand or walk 75% of the day

• Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions

• Able to work under stress and in emergency situations

• Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping

• Able to talk and hear effectively in order to convey instructions and information to residents and team members

• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds

PAY SCALE:

• $15 – $20 per hour depending on experience
